| Key words: |
Synaptic Plasticity, glutamate, Neurogenesis, calcium, Immunohistochemistry, hippocampus, Learning and Memory, Electrophysiology, Behavior, Pharmacology |
| Research interests: |
My laboratory studies the impact of exercise and developmental disorders on hippocampal structure and function. Our current main projects are to look at how exercise, Prenatal Ethanol Exposure and Fragile-X Syndrome impact neurogenesis, dendritic growth, and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. We are particularly interested in the mechanisms by which exercise can benefit these disorders. |
