RESEARCH ACTIVITIES - Description used by investigators to specify their area of expertise.
Key words: Electrophysiology, Synaptic Plasticity, Immunohistochemistry, Behavior, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Motivation, Addiction, Dopamine, Neuropeptides
Research interests: My main interest lies in understanding the neurobiological mechanisms responsible for the homeostatic regulation of brain reward circuits and how drugs of abuse can hijack normal appetitive behaviour. I use slice electrophysiology to elucidate the synaptic and cellular events and retrograde tracing to answer questions related to neural circuitry underlying the physiological effects.
